Our client is a leading multi disciplinary engineering consultancy and they are looking to recruit a Principal Infrastructure Engineer for their Greater London offices..Their highways & infrastructure team is involved in a wide range of projects ranging from master planning & site appraisal, feasibility studies, detailed design design and supervision across broad range of skills including highways, utilities, drainage, flood studies, external works, LRT and rail civils.

Job Description As Principal Infrastructure Engineer, you could be working on highways, LRT, rail civil, drainage and utilities projects. You will be expected to combine managerial leadership and technical responsibilities, promote a collaborative approach & inspire the team to deliver projects to quality, budget and timescales. The role carries a high degree of autonomy and responsibility.

You will be responsible for:

Managing, planning, design and implementation of highway / infrastructure projects

Promoting & ensuring adherence to H&S policy & procedures

Leading projects, ensuring delivery to client requirements of quality standards, programme and budget

Providing specialist technical leadership

Controlling project resources and monitoring against budget

Preparing and managing work programmes to deliver to deadlines

Developing client relationships

Contributing to bid proposals and submissions

Compliance with corporate governance processes

Providing management support & leadership

Mentoring and developing junior staff

Developing BIM capability

Assisting in development of the business

Candidate Specification You will need to have/be:

Degree qualified in civil engineering

Chartered (or possibly Incorporated) Engineer – ICE or IHT

Demonstrable record of designing and delivering highways & infrastructure projects

Technical in-depth experience in one or more of highways, drainage, utilities, BIM including design, specification and construction documentation

Experience of managing project teams

Experience of monitoring project programmes, costs and resources ensuring delivery to time and budget

Supported preparation of fee proposals and bid submissions

Demonstrated commercial and financial awareness

IT and standard industry software skills, including knowledge of BIM

Ability to communicate confidently and professionally with all levels of staff and clients (written and verbal)
