Overdue £750M consultancy framework details released

The framework covers work for a wide range of pubic sector bodies including all government spending departments, local authorities and police and fire services.  Contracts will be for an initial two years with a year by year extension possible for another two years and will cover a wide range of consultancy services including architecture and engineering, project management and cost consultancy.

The previous framework expired in June and during the delay the value of the new framework has risen from £600M. Initial bids must be submitted by 29 November and selected firms will be invited to tender on 6 January, with contract awards in March and the framework starting in April.

Government says procurement will allow smaller and medium sized consultants to compete either in joint venture or on their own. Up to 31 consultants could win places on the framework which is divided into five lots.

The framework is known as

Lot 1 will include eight firms capable of providing a ‘One stop shop’ across all services.

Lot 2 is for Project Management and five firms are expected to be allocated this work.

Lot 3 is for Cost Management, CDM and Health and Safety and five firms are to be selected.

Lot 4 will also include five firms for Design Team services

Lot 5 is for “One stop shop” international works on the overseas estate, including embassies, to which eight firms will be appointed.
